A bursary may help with your course fee

A bursary is a way of giving financial help to students. You can apply for a bursary from the county council where your workplace is based (not your home address).  If your workplace is in the Hampshire County Council area, you can apply for the following:

  • Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce                                    £800 towards the course fee

Your workplace setting is expected to contribute at least £100 towards the full qualification costs.

If your workplace is in Surrey then please contact their County Council for further information on bursary allocations.

How to apply for a bursary

  1. You or your employer should contact the county council for the area that covers your workplace.
  2. Ask for a Training Bursary Application Form.
  3. Complete the form and return it to the county council for them to approve.
  4. The county council will send you a Bursary Approval Notice, and tell you how much of the course fee they can pay. When you've got this notice, you must send it to us immediately with your enrolment form so that we can reserve a place for you on the course of your choice.

Note: we'll send an invoice to the County Council for the part of the course fee that they've agreed to pay. Your employer will need to pay at least £100 contribution to your course fee. We can't reserve a course place for you until we've received your completed enrolment form, Bursary Award Notice and the balance of your course fee.
