Teaching and learning

The course will include classroom tuition and out of class support through email and an on-line forum.

Computer based formal tests at the end of each module and a synoptic exam after the core units

Progression

AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting course can lead to entry to other professional qualifications such as ACA, CIMA and ACCA.

This course is the natural progression for those students who have completed the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping.

What is the AAT Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping course?

The AAT Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping course is the natural progression for those students who have completed the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping.  However, AAT will also take into consideration work experience or other qualifications compatible with Level 2.

The qualification will provide an advanced knowledge of accounting principles and concepts. In particular preparing financial statements for sole traders and partnerships.

This qualification expands the skills and knowledge of experienced bookkeepers; it can then provide a stepping stone to a career as a professional bookkeeper. Additionally it provides a progression route to the AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting and the AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting .

What is the Foundation Accounting Software course?

This course will enable you to use a computerised system to enter accounting transactions, perform a reconciliation, correct errors and produce a range of reports. You will also be able to maintain the security of accounting information using passwords and backup routines.

Students must have completed a Level 2 bookkeeping qualification or be competent in double entry bookkeeping.

What is the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping course?

The AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping is a practical course where students will gain experience of bookkeeping within a small business environment.

Although there are no formal entry requirements, applicants should have a good standard of numeracy and literacy in order to be successful.
