This course is for speakers of other languages from beginners to those with intermediate English. You will improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, widen your vocabulary and knowledge of British culture and take a nationally recognised qualification.

What is the ESOL with Citizenship course?

This course is suitable for speakers of other languages who are complete beginners up to those with intermediate English who want to improve for personal or work reasons. You will study in a small group at your own pace. The course will help you to improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and widen your vocabulary and knowledge of British culture. You will take a nationally recognised qualification at the end of the course.

Course topics

These may cover any or all of the following:

  • Using the National Health Service
  • Education
  • Sport and Leisure
  • Writing letters and emails
  • Discussions
  • Use of past tenses

Teaching and learning

You will work in a small, friendly group with plenty of one-to-one support. You will have access to the internet during the lessons to do research and produce written work.

Assessment details

You will take a nationally recognised qualification at your assessed level at the end of the course. (The British Citizenship test can only be taken externally).
