Alton Judo Club


Alton Judo Club is a friendly and welcoming club, catering for novice to expert judoka (aged 14 and up at our senior sessions and 7-14 at our junior class). The club is a member of the British Judo Association (the UK National Governing Body), running since 1978 and still going strong. Our senior class is run by Sensei Derek Piears a Level 3 Coach, former Southern Area Technical Director and former Hampshire County Coach; our junior class is run by Petra Piears, a Level 2 Coach and our very own multiple times World Masters Champion and Gold Medallist! Both are 4th Dan Black Belts.

Lesson times Juniors Friday evening 6.30-7.30 / Seniors 7.30-8.30

FitSteps® is an energetic, upbeat dance class designed to achieve real, measurable, fitness results. Rebecca James Yoga

Yoga has the power to transform your life. On a physical level it can help with back ache, shoulder tension and spinal alignment as well as creating a beautiful body. On an emotional level yoga can help reduce stress and anxiety by encouraging states of relaxation and calm.

Pregnancy Yoga in upstairs studio 19:15-20:25, £9 session for 6 consecutive sessions or £12 drop-in for final weeks of pregnancy
Hatha Yoga in Dance Studio 20:30-21:30  £8 a session if booked half termly in advance.

Yoga for Everyone


17:00 - 18:15 upstairs in Studio 17 Wessex Arts Centre

This hatha yoga practice aims to improve your wellbeing by teaching techniques to help relieve stress, encourage relaxation and gently encouraging the body to learn to become more flexible, toned and supple.

Each class comprises yoga postures, stretches, breathing and relaxation, together with a little meditation and is suitable for all levels from complete beginners to the more experienced.

£7.00 per class if booked/paid on half termly basis
£8.00 for a drop in class

Starting on 6th September, 19:30 - 20:30 in the Dance Studio

Age: Essentially an adult class but 13 years+ welcome if accompanied by an adult

Benefits: A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. This is a fun class with infectious music from around the world. Newcomers welcome.
