James MacMillan visits Alton College young composers

We are very fortunate to be able to invite internationally renowned Scottish composer James MacMillan to College on Thursday 24th March. James will spend time in college talking to student composers and then talking about his own music.

That evening, we will conduct the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at The Anvil in Basingstoke in a programme which will include two of his pieces – one of which will be The Confessions of Isobel Gowdie, together with Walton’s fabulously rhythmic Viola Concerto and Vaughan Williams’ amazing Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis.
Anybody interested in listening to James talk should contact the Music Office - 01420 592405
