Rocket Science Lecture - Colonising Planets

Renowned British cosmologist Stephen Hawking has said ‘Humans must colonise planets in other solar systems or face extinction.  Sooner or later disasters such as an asteroid collision or a nuclear war could wipe us all out, but once we spread out into space and establish independent colonies, our future should be safe.  In order to survive, humanity would have to venture to other hospitable planets orbiting the sun or another star’.

This year’s rocket scientists are looking at some of the issues and the possible solutions that would make such a trip feasible.
