A former HSDC student has said how ‘proud’ she feels after being awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship at the University of Portsmouth.

Holly Griffin was awarded the scholarship after achieving a triple distinction* in her BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business, specialising in Accounts and Law at Havant & South Downs College.

The email from the university said: “We have received your results and would like to congratulate you on your exceptional achievement. We are therefore happy to confirm that we will be awarding you the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship of £1000.”

Holly said: “I found out yesterday that I’m being awarded with the Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship – happy and proud is an understatement of how I feel right now!

“Hard work pays off and the rewards are definitely worth the stress.”

Holly began her university journey with a four-year BA(hons) International Business degree.

Business volunteer Richard Maybury commented on Holly’s success, stating: “Well done Holly, you were outstanding when I first met you through Working Knowledge at Havant & South Downs College and clearly you continue to be so.

“Lock those happy and proud feelings in your heart so that you can use their energy when the going gets tough in the future.”
