Equestrian team jump to success
Alton College Showjumping team took part in Hurstpierpoint College National School’s and Pony Club Jumping Championships at Hickstead again this summer. The brightest young talents in showjumping battled it out for the honours in the Senior Schools competitions. The College team comprised of Georgina Heeney, previously at Eggars School, Molly Heap, previously at Perins School, and Miles O'Donnell, previously at Wellington College. They were one of only four teams (out of a total of 43 teams) who went 'clear' in the first round. After the second round the Alton team ended joint 8th (the highest placed state school) beating Wellington College, Stonar School, Millfield and other schools with their own stables. The Individual Show Jumping prize was won by Alton College student - Miles O'Donnell on his horse Chris, he is the first state school student to have won this accolade.
