Music students have been extremely busy in the lead up to Christmas. A small group entertained the crowds on Alton High Street as part of the Yuletide Festival at the beginning of the month, performing a selection of festive favourites. Students from A level and BTEC music classes performed a Christmas concert in St Lawrence's Church showcasing solo items and a variety of ensemble pieces. In the final week of term, students played carols for appreciative Christmas shoppers at Sainsbury's in Alton. They were collecting money for the Martin Read Foundation, who support young composers, and they raised £107. They then returned to campus to play 'Carols on the Green' for students and staff to join in communal singing. A number of students have also had auditions and interviews at some of the UK's top Music conservatoires and are awaiting their results.
2017 promises to be just as busy!
