Keeping Parents Informed

In response to our Parents Survey and your comments regarding being better informed, we are very pleased to announce the launch of parental access to  Individual Learning Plans (or ILP), enabling you to stay informed of the progress your son or daughter is making whilst studying at College.

When enrolled on a course, the progress of all students is recorded and presented to them through their ILP which summarises for learners and staff the progress of the student, and provides an overview of progress toward their agreed targets, records attendance and timetable information. We've explained more about our progress and monitoring processes in the Parents' Pages.

The ILP system has been previously highlighted by BECTA as an outstanding supporting system to student programmes of study, and much interest has been taken in the system by other educational organisations. Ofsted has regularly given highly positive feedback in regard to how the ILP system supports learners during their time at Alton College.

You should shortly receive a letter from the College with your personal details to enable you to log in and start using the ILP. You will then be able to log in via the Parents' Pages.
