Maths Challengers make UK Final!

Talented Maths students achieved a close second to independent King Edward VI School at the regional finals of the Senior Team Maths Challenge. Both teams will compete at the National Final in Feb 2016. Local Hampshire college, Peter Symonds took third place.

The Alton College Team (pictured) comprising of Chris Hughes (previously at Amery Hill School), Ali Bayliss (previously at Perins), Paul Cumner (previously at Robert May’s School) and Will Young (previously at The Petersfield School) finishing second out of 24 teams in the Hampshire regional final held on campus recently.

Winners, independent King Edward VI School in Southampton and Alton College will both take part in the National Finals to be held in London in February.

Other schools and colleges taking part in the competition included a mix of independent and state schools and Colleges; Barton Peveril, Bedales, Churchers, Farnham SFC, Havant, Lord Wandsworth, Portsmouth Grammar School, South Downs, St Swithun’s and Richard Taunton’s.
