New bus contract for College

From September, Alton College students can expect their journeys to be a much improved experience after the College has awarded its bus contract to Go South Coast.

The new service will be provided by a dedicated fleet of buses branded with the College logo and routes tailored to be as convenient as possible for the majority of students.  Many students should experience reduced journey times and parents will get a better financial deal.

Vice Principal Steve MacCormack commented, “After a long tendering process we are delighted with the outcome for our students.  Go South Coast will provide a dedicated and enhanced bus service with many advantages over the previous provider.  I hope that the new and improved service will encourage more students to use the bus rather than come by car and provide them with a much better experience.”

Students will be able to buy termly bus passes which offers more flexibility and the ability to spread the cost.  Each termly pass can be paid for in three instalments which can be made conveniently through the College’s secure online store

The College will be working very closely with Go South Coast to set up the new services and information will be sent out to new and existing students in readiness for the start of term.  In order to purchase a bus pass for  next term and for further details about the routes please follow the links on the College website to Transport or search 'bus'.
