Performing Arts students reach national finals
The amazing artistic talents of two second year Alton College students have been on display this summer with both of them reaching national levels in their respective area of performance.
AS Dance student Emma King, previously at Robert Mays School, who regularly competes in dance festivals around the area, was recently placed second for both her contemporary and modern solos in the Southern Final of the ‘All England Dance Competition’. This achievement means that she will be competing in national final of the competition at the Hackney Empire from 24 July – 2 August. Good luck to Emma!
For the second year running, BTEC Performing Arts student Josie Smith, previously at Heath End School, was invited to perform alongside professionals at West End Live. The event takes place in Trafalgar Square, London, and features showcase performances from every current West End musical. This year Josie performed as 'Tracey Turnblad' from the musical Hairspray. Josie also recently featured in our new prospectus and is going on to study acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
