Photography student gets on the map

Alton College student Eliot Finch, previously at The Petersfield School, was recently shortlisted for this year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year award. The competition calls on young, amateur and professional photographers worldwide to put nature in the spotlight and raise awareness of its beauty. Eliot studied AS photography in his first year at Alton College and chose to submit this beautiful photo of a squirrel which he took in Victoria Park, Portsmouth to the competition. With this image he also entered ‘Snaps on the Map’, a new photography competition organised by Ordnance Survey looking for the very best photos of Great Britain to feature on the covers of its iconic paper maps. Eliot’s photo has been successful in securing the cover image spot on the Haslemere & Petersfield Ordnance Survey Map.
