Police, Camera, Action!
Foundation Learning students on the Pathways and Towards Independence programmes had the chance to get hands on with police uniforms and equipment when PCSO Dean Mohammed from the Alton sector of the Hampshire Constabulary came in to College for a practical session. The students were given the opportunity to explore the police van, try on helmets and stab vests, test out riot shields and then asked PCSO Mohammed about his job, including whether he had been injured whilst at work, how fast he had ever gone in a police car, how long he had been a police officer, and what is the best thing about being in the police.
Lawrence Greene, previously at Baycroft School, said it was ‘really interesting meeting a police officer and finding out what he does every day. It was good fun being able to put on the helmet and pretending to drive the van.’
