See you in court!
It was a case of a trial and no errors when Alton College students defeated the opposition to win the regional heat of the Bar National Mock Trial competition at WInchester Crown Court.
For the second year running Alton will be competing in the national finals of the competition against other regional heat winners.
The competition now in its 23rd year involves over 2,000 students, 300 barristers and advocates and 90 judges from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Held in real courts throughout the UK the contest sees students play a variety of court roles from judge to advocate, juror to witness and even court reporter.
The group then present their case against other schools and colleges and following a lively debate a professional judge decides which side is undoubtably the most convincing.
This year our team, who all study law as an enrichment course, presented both criminal and civil cases: Actual Bodily Harm and Fraud.
So far seven of the 14 regional heats have taken place, the remainder will compete by the end of November.
Congratulations to the team and the very best of luck for the final!
