Students celebrate outstanding results

The torrential rain couldn't dampen the excitement of the students who came to collect their A level and AS level results on Thursday 18th August and it was worth braving the elements as the College celebrated another year of superb results.

99% of the College’s A level students achieved pass grades (A*- E) and 99% of those on advance vocational courses (BTEC National Diploma and Foundation Diploma) also achieving pass grades or higher.

AS level students achieved a 93% A* - E pass rate, an impressive 5.5% above the national benchmark.

39 A level subjects achieved 100% passes with 67% achieving 50% or more A*- B grades while 8 of the 9 advanced vocational subjects at the College attained 100% pass rate, with a staggering 87% gaining Distinction and Merit grades. 16 students achieved the required results to take up their places at Oxford and Cambridge.

Jane Machell, Principal at Alton College commented on today's results. "Our students received superb results with very high numbers achieving the highest grades.  I am extremely proud of them.  My staff deserve a huge vote of thanks for their continued dedication to the students and their high levels of professionalism.  These results confirm Alton College as one of the very best in the entire country".
