What else is going on at the College?
National Youth Jazz Collective Workshops
On Wednesday 15th February the College welcomes four tutors from the National Youth Jazz Collective - Issie Barrett, founder and Artistic Director, along with Mick Foster [saxophone], Simon Colam [piano] and Mark Hodgson [double bass] who will spend the day running improvisation workshops for young jazz musicians. Participants will be able to show off the skills they learn during the workshop in an evening performance held on the same day. Book your place on the workshop through our Online Store.
‘Rock School’ is also well underway at Alton College with a group of keen young musicians from schools around the area eager to make music. The 11 – 16 year olds cover a broad range of experience from beginners to players of 5 years or more, but the main aim of the Rock School is to meet students at whichever level they’re at and encourage them to perform in a band context. Spaces are limited for the next half term's sessions so please book your place through our Online Store.
