Young Volunteer of the Year

Congratulations to student Caroline Hodgkiss who won the Young Volunteer of the Year award at last night’s East Hampshire Volunteer Awards Evening. Caroline was nominated for showing great positivity and for overcoming numerous personal obstacles, but she has still shown the strength of character to be a young carer and found the time to promote volunteering to other young people. As a student volunteer at Alton College she has been awarded the Lions Young Leaders in Service Award and does all she can to encourage her peers to engage positively as volunteers.

Caroline also volunteers for the Christian Union at College, promoting good values within the community and is also part of the Students’ Union, giving up her spare time to support the College.

The awards were presented at Old Thorns at which the Alton College Jazz band provided entertainment for the award winners and invited guests.
