Parents of sixth form students receive regular newsletters from the College.

Student Absence

If your son or daughter is absent from College, we would be grateful if you could notify the College as follows:

  1. If you know in advance about an absence, please inform us before the day of the absence in writing to Student Services or by telephone (01420 592214 – a 24 hour voicemail service) This will then be recorded as an authorised absence, providing the reason given is acceptable, e.g. an unchangeable medical appointment, an interview or university Open Day, a Driving Test. Students can obtain a 'Notification of Future Absence' form from Student Services for this purpose.
  2. If you do not know about the absence in advance, e.g. sickness, problems with bus or train transport, please telephone the absence line (01420 592214) on each day of the absence, preferably by 11 a.m. It will then be recorded as authorised, providing the reason given is acceptable.

Student Absence - Request for Exceptional Leave

The College has a clear policy not to authorise any absences from college during term time, unless there are very exceptional circumstances.

To request exceptional leave, a parental request for exceptional student leave during term time form may be downloaded and completed.

All requests should be made well in advance of the requested period of absence. The request will be acknowledged within 3 working days and a decision made as to whether to authorise the absence within 5 working days.
