New Computers in the LRC

  • During the Easter holiday over 70 new computers were installed in the centre area of the LRC
  • The new computers are very fast at logging you in and opening all applications. However, the computers are linked in batches of 8 or 10 to one ‘master‘, therefore you need to note:-
    • No USB sticks with the new computers. If you know you need access to your USB please use one of the computers around the side of the room.
    • Do not lock your computer. The only way we can release that computer is to turn off the “master” and that means shutting down all computers attached to it and therefore inconveniencing a lot of other students. If you do need to lock your computer please report to Mandy so she can monitor the situation.
  • We will be monitoring all usage closely to ensure fair and sensible use of the new computers. Barbara Frater
