Course Content:

Studying this course will develop that initial marketing communication knowledge and skills that will enable our students to function appropriately in a support role in a marketing/sales environment. They will learn to consider the provision of information to customers on products and prices, field telephone queries from prospective customers and provide administrative support for sales and marketing campaigns. 

Learners will consider the principles of marketing, how to communicate successfully with customers and analyse the different communications tools that are available to convey messages. They will also study the impact of new communications media and how organisations use new technologies such social media and websites to influence the consumer behaviour.

If you are a creative learner, who enjoys working with people, this will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills to become an influential marketing practitioner.

Studying at Alton College:

This pioneering new qualification is designed to enable learners to progress into employment, in roles such as; marketing administrator, marketing assistant, sales administrator or onto a higher apprenticeship or university.

Entry requirements:

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but to optimise their chances of success, learners will typically have five GCSEs at A* to C, preferably including English and Maths. Achievement in a creative subject such as art or media would also be beneficial.

Course costs:

All learners will be involved in a contextualised project which will be industry driven and enable them to demonstrate their ability to contribute to team performance. Learners are encouraged to work with employers on their designs, meaning that learners gain the transferable skills that employers and higher education providers say are critical to successful progression.
