Apply now for September 2017
Hello Year 11's!
Now it's time to decide where and what to study after you leave school next year and we're here to help you.
Skip straight to the application
If you have already researched what you want to do, and perhaps have been to one of our Open Evenings, you can skip straight to our easy to use online application. The advisory deadline for applications is 31st December, and those of you at Partner schools will receive specific deadlines to keep to.
Need help with choosing courses?
Make good use of the Careers and Progression information, advice and guidance that you will have at your school. There are some really important factors to think about when looking at courses...
- what subjects do you enjoy and do well in at GCSE?
- what do you want to do in the future, and are there particular subjects you need to take?
- do you do better in assessment by exam or coursework?
- what are your predicted GCSE grades, and what level do they indicate you should look to study at College?
Importantly, if you are really struggling to decide on courses, you can just put down your ideas on your application. At your Guidance Interview our experienced staff will be able to talk through options with you and help you to plan carefully the best programme of study.
Why is Alton College for me?
Make sure you visit us on one of our Open Evenings; explore the subject areas you're interested in and look around our wonderful campus. You'll see for yourself what the atmosphere here is like and you can speak to staff and students about lessons and College life. If you can't make it to an Open Evening, do get in touch with us by phoning the Student Hub on 01420 592200. We'll arrange a time for you to come in and have a tour of the campus; we're always pleased to see you.
Alton College has been graded Outstanding in every area at our past two OFSTED inspections, and when you visit it will be no surprise why. We have a lovely new campus with great facilities, including our brand new Sonadyne Centre for Engineering. Our results are also fantastic and we pride ourselves on supporting students to achieve the very best that they can.
If you are aiming for Oxbridge or a competitive University, possibly one of the Russell Group, then Alton is a really good choice. We work hard with our More Able and Talented students to help them achieve their high potential, and with fantastic results. Last year 70% of our students that went on to University studied at these top institutions. It's not down to luck, but the high level of support and guidance that is given, including:
