Getting Here – Alton Campus

Is HSDC hard to get to? Not at all!
It’s cheap and easy to get to our Alton Campus.

It could cost less than £3.81 a day to get to our Alton Campus with a subsidised annual bus pass (which includes the ‘Travel Subsidy’ given back to you in the second term). We’ve also worked with train providers to get you a reduced rate for train travel.

Listed below is information on some of the easiest ways to get to Alton Campus but if you have any questions please contact travelandsupport@alton.hsdc.ac.uk

Please note there is no obligation to purchase a subsidised bus or train pass.

The new 16-17 Railcard offers a 50% discount on rail travel. For more information, visit the 16-17 Saver website. Sometimes the 16-17 Railcard may not be cheaper than college train passes, so please explore all of your options!

For those students not purchasing a 16-17 Railcard, travelling from Farnham, Guildford, Aldershot or beyond, South Western Railway are offering discounted termly train passes for the below train stations. In addition to this discount, the College will reduce the cost of the train pass further. The final cost of the train pass is as detailed here.

Train passes can be purchased via the College’s online payment system, WisePay.

You are advised to purchase your Term 1 train ticket by 14 August. It can take 7-10 workings days for train tickets to arrive on Campus (ready for collection on the first day of term).

We have an arrangement with Stagecoach to provide bus services to Alton Campus. You are advised to purchase your bus pass as early as possible, directly from the Stagecoach app (for mobile phone tickets) or Stagecoach website. A travel subsidy (a one-off payment) will be available from Alton Campus for students who purchase an annual or termly Stagecoach ticket and are still enrolled on their course in their second term; details of this refund will be sent to parent/carers and students nearer the time.

Many of the public bus routes stop outside the Campus too.
