Welcome Day 2019

Welcome Day is open to all students who have applied to Alton College for September 2019, and will be held on Thursday 11th July - 10-3pm

What does Welcome Day entail?

We kick off at 10am when you all arrive at the Old Odiham Road entrance. Travel on the day is FREE to and from College on all Stagecoach buses, just show the driver your invitation or reminder email invitation on your phone or tablet.

You'll register in the Refectory and receive your wristband which guarantees entry to all areas plus your programme for the day. Next our amazing Students' Union, student ambassadors and staff will guide you to the Sports Hall.

From 10.30am-12.35 all of our subject areas are OPEN. You will receive a personal timetable on arrival and will then participate in three taster lessons. Your programme will give you all the information you need but if in doubt please just ask a student (they're in red t-shirts) or a member of staff.

We know you've just finished your exams and can't wait to start here in September, so each subject area has a leaflet of ideas you can use for #gettingahead over summer. They will also be available here on this page after the day.

You'll be hungry by now and ready to relax so come to the Bowling Green between 12:35 and 1:35 and grab a BBQ lunch and ice lolly and find out more about the enrichment opportunities open to our students and sign up for sports trials.

If you fancy some peace and quiet at any time during the day please visit our Quiet Zone, an outside garden space dedicated to relaxing.

You will have another taster lesson in the afternoon and a final closing talk at 2:45pm.

We'll finish by 3pm and you're free to go home!

Remember to bring suncream, hats, sunglasses - of course it will be hot! Also bring cash as we have Starbucks for coffees and snacks.

If you have any questions before the day please email enquiries@altoncollege.ac.uk or call the Student Hub on 01420 592212
